Halloween

Having Annie in school and Ethan in preschool, we went to several Halloween parties this year. We had a unique team with a Transformer, Fairy-cat and Skunk. Annie couldn't decide if she wanted to be a fairy or a cat, so she found a way to be both. Ethan continues to dress up every day in his costume. And Richard... well he's the cutest little stinker I've ever seen!

Mama's Birthday

My birthday celebration lasted two days this year. This could be because I'm getting a little old, or it could be that my birthday landed on a Sunday. Shawn made the occasion special by organizing a party with just adults. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Flying Star then came back home to have delicious cake and ice cream. I enjoyed it very much to be able to have an adult conversation without any interruptions. Sunday was a special day also enjoying some more cake with my little ones. They made me birthday cards and treated me like a queen all day.

Birthday Fun

For Annie's 5th we had a cake with rainbow colors inside. We heard if a unicorn lands on top of your cake it will turn it into a rainbow. It proved true for us. Annie had a wonderful birthday celebrated at school and at home. Her Kindergarten class enjoyed chocolate chip muffins and juice with mini bubbles to play with. Happy Birthday Annie! We sure love you.

A Growing Boy

Our little Richard is nearly 5 months old. It's amazing how much he has grown and learned since his birth. Everyday I am amazed at what he can do. He is such a happy baby and a joy in our home.

He did it!!

Upon turning 3 and moving into his "big boy bed" Ethan decided that he wanted to be potty trained. It was all his decision (with a few incentives). Here in this photo he's holding his empty potty jar. Every time he went potty he earned a skittle. Good job Ethan! Doesn't he look great with this cool scorpion belt buckle? He is a very stylish 3 year old.

Starting Kindergarten

August 10th was Annie's first day of school. She was so excited that at 7 am when I went to get her out of bed to get ready she was already up completely dressed with her backpack on and lunch box in hand. She loves her teacher Ms. Erin and is excited to learn new things every day.

Driving Home

After 40+ hours of driving in the car, visiting 2 major national parks, seeing all cousins from both sides, seeing all grandmas and grandpas from both sides the kids were ready to come home to their own beds, own toys and their regular routine. We had a great July! One we will never forget.

Island Park

What fun it was to reunite with cousins and family in Island Park for the Adamson reunion. We had a great time being together in a beautiful cabin, visiting Yellowstone National Park and seeing bears in the IMax theater. At Yellowstone the kids had a lot of fun making a see-saw with logs. We visited Mesa Falls on the way home. It was great to show our kids something we enjoyed while we were dating. The rainbow over the falls was a beautiful sight.

Wasatch Mountain Trail

Shawn couldn't resist the invitation to ride motorcycles with Rob and his kids up the Wasatch trail. An amazing view and mighty fun company.

Spending some time at Grandmas

While relaxing for a little while at Grandma's house some unexpected things happened. Little Richard discovered his thumb. (So cute and very helpful!) A Quarter note reunion on temple square with all of our kids. A fun visit to Great Grandma Lael's picking fruit right off the tree and a striking performance of Cinderella and the Fire man on Grandma's back yard stage.

Tea Party or Motorcycling?

While Grandma had her famous tea party with all of her granddaughters (minus Savannah) the boys and men loaded up Rob's bike trailer and headed to some trails to do some motorcycling. Ethan wasn't shy to give it a try. He hasn't stopped talking about it sense.

Shakespearian Festial

A fun night without little ones to see the "Merchant of Venice" was a real treat! Mom and Dad loved taking us to their hometown to see some quality entertainment under the stars. It was a true miracle to be all together to celebrate Mom and Dad's 40th wedding anniversary.

It was great to be together with all our family in St. George. Mom and Dad had every moment planned out with fun things to do. All siblings, spouses and older children spent an early morning playing golf against the beautiful red rock on a course in St. George. Mom and Dad watched the little ones while we were gone. Later that day we went to a park. A game of soccer in 105 degree weather can be really fun if the sprinklers turn on. Everyone was soaked but had a great time. As seen by the pictures, there is a lot you can do in the hot summer in the park when the sprinklers turn on.

Zion's Park

After Shawn's back packing trip we headed southwest to Zion's National Park where we met up with Mom, Dad and Cousin Sam. We had fun enjoying the beauty of the red rocks and hiking to see the weeping rock. The kids loved trying to catch the water in their mouths and cooling off from the hot dry summer day.

Family Fun in July

We spent the whole month of July with our wonderful family. Starting the trip off on the right foot we first went to Colorado so Daddy and Papa could hike Mt. Columbia. They had a great time together. They packed pretty light, so light that they forgot the map. Luckily Shawn had studied the map so well it was all in his head. He had also studied Bear Grills and was able to catch a fish with his bare hands! They said the view was amazing and the wild flowers exquisite!
